Power Morcellators

been harmed by powermorcellators

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has issued an order requiring the manufacturers of power morcellators to add a “Black Box Warning”, the strongest warning the agency uses, to prevent this tool from spreading cancer.  This comes just 7 months after the same agency issued guidance on the use of the device.

In laparoscopic and robotic hysterectomies doctors use this tool to reduce the size of the removed tissue so that it can be taken out of the body through the laparoscopic or robotic ports without making a larger incision in the belly.  Unfortunately, the way it was designed and used, there is the possibility of spreading a cancer, even an unknown cancer.

If you or a loved one has had a spread of cancer due to the use of this device you should contact our firm as soon as possible.  The United States Panel on Multidistrict Litigation of the federal court system will be deciding where to create the consolidated case litigation in early December.  Our experienced attorneys are ready to pursue the manufacturers for this deadly device.  You may call our office at the number on this website, chat with one of our representatives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or email us using the free case review form at the bottom of our home page.
